1000-lb. Sisters star, Tammy Slaton, recently posted flattering selfies from rehab suggesting that her treatment in rehab is going very well, and now The Sun reporting that Tammy is making so much progress in the Ohio treatment center that she will most likely be released earlier than planned.
Tammy's fans, friends, and family became very concerned when she suddenly disappeared from social media earlier this year. A "friend" of Tammy’s is now reporting that after her orginal Instagram account was hacked, Tammy took a break and then created a new account which only allows her friends and family access.
The new post depicts a huge weight loss with Tammy proudly showing off a painting. But before entering rehab, Tammy was on a downhill spiral, falling prey to a series of hanger-ons and fans who introduced her to heavy drug and alcohol abuse. Eventually, it all caught up with her, and Tammy ended up on a ventilator in the ICU after contracting Covid. She then underwent a tracheotomy, a procedure in which they cut an opening in the windpipe to accomodate a breathing tube. “She hates her trach, although it’s gotten smaller and Tammy only has to wear it part-time now.”, the friend said. Tammy's birthday is coming up in July, and she would love to be able to celebrate at home, but her ultimate goal is to be present for the birth of her sister Amy's second son, this summer.
Although Tammy's continued progress with her health remains the her number one priority, Tammy still faces other problems. Amy recently revealed that due to the pricey rehab stay, Tammy could no longer afford the rent, and subsequently lost the duplex that she had been calling home for the last several years. “Tammy’s social security pays it, but it takes her whole social security check, the show isn’t paying,” she told The Sun. “That’s why I hear she doesn’t have a place to live because she can’t afford the rent.” “When she comes out she’ll stay with me for a little bit, soon as we find a place she’ll go there,” Amy added.
1000-lb Sisters is expected to air later this year, but Tammy’s role in Season 4 remains unclear.
