Women’s Lives Matter (If You’re A White Liberal Woman)
Get the hell out has been the liberal position for two decades, until about a week ago, when Democrats suddenly became “so concerned” about the fate of Afghanistan, let alone the women and children. You can call for American-troop withdrawal for 20 years, and you won’t be politically or strategically wrong. But you need to be ready to take it on the chin when you get what you ask for and the inevitable happens: girls being forced into child marriage and forbidden to go to school or to leave the house without a male relative, and God forbid they are found in the company of a male, other than their husbands owners.
A shocking video of a mob beating in northern Afghanistan has provided a window into the brutal "justice" women in the country face. It shows a woman clad in a blue burqa kneeling as she is shouted at and insulted by a crowd of men that included family members. As she kneels, she receives heavy blows to her head, back, arms, and shoulders by multiple stick-wielding men.
The woman is silent throughout the beating, as shouts of "Allahu Akbar" can be heard from the crowd. At one point, a man kicks her in the back, causing the woman to fall to the ground. When she gets back on her knees, the beating continues.
Witnesses have claimed that the 22-year-old woman was being punished at the order of local clerics, who had decided she was guilty of having an extramarital affair while her husband was away in Iran.
But don’t worry; Senator Dianne Feinstein, Speaker Pelosi, “the Squad”, and of course the cackling VP herself have everything under control. They are “concerned” about the women and girls in Afghanistan. We aren’t abandoning them! They will be covered by the bipartisan Protect Women’s and Girls’ Rights in Afghanistan Act, introduced by Feinstein and Senator Joni Ernst in May.
Does the left EVER get tired of being lied to? According to this act, America will use the withholding of economic aid and the “voice” of the United States government to protect Afghan women. If the Taliban abuses those women, America will ensure that the militants are brought “to justice.”
