The Wendy Williams Show is officially over. After a year of prolonged illness and absence from The Wendy Williams Show, the producers have decided to officially end the show.
Williams has been battling Graves' disease, substance abuse, two bouts with Covid-19, and alleged mental issues for a couple of years now, and most recently entered into a legal battle with Wells Fargo, who has freezed her assets for her own protection, citing that the troubled personality is not of sound mind. Fox Entertainment Group, their distributors, the sponsors, and even her own production apparently finally had enough, and decided to end the show.
"Since Wendy is still not available to host the show as she continues on her road to recovery, we believe it is best for our fans, stations and advertising partners to start making this transition now," company co-presidents Mort Marcus and Ira Bernstein said in a statement. Wendy's show will now be replaced by Sherri Shepherd. "Sherri!" is set to debut in September.
