Have Fans Lost Interest in Lisa Vanderpump?

Hard to believe it's already been a week.  I actually planned on recapping this new season of Vanderpump Rules, but after reports that the Season 9 premier bombed in the ratings, I don’t know that it’s worth the time. Also, if the lack of comments on all the blogs are any indication, it would appear that VPR has lost its momentum, probably for good.

Of course Bravo/NBC/Universal will never admit that the 50% drop in viewership is undoubtedly due to last year’s firing bloodbath, but I have a feeling that somewhere longtime fan favorites Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Jax Taylor, and Brittany Cartwright, are smiling from ear to ear.

Vanderpump Rules season 9 saw just over 600K viewers and nabbed just 0.21 of the key 18-49 demographic, compared to the season 8 premiere which brought in 1.272 million viewers and scored 0.5 of the 18-49 demo. That’s about a 50 percent reduction on both accounts.

I keep thinking about Kyle’s appearance on WWHL last week, when chief pot stirrer Pimpdaddy Cohen brought up Lisa Vanderpump’s recent accusations that Kyle was spreading rumors about the Girardi’s financial problems way back when, specifically at his baby shower.  Kyle responded in her best LVP accent, “I mean, Andy, I mean, I would never say something like this, ever, but one could argue, perhaps, that maybe her memory is fading along with her relevance because she wasn’t even at the baby shower but I would never say something like that! You can think about that, though, I’m just saying.”

Then there were Jax's comments about VPR even before his firing.  On some podcast, he bit the hand that fed him (and Brittany) by saying “The last three years of Vanderpump Rules, I have been like 90 percent checked out. I don’t know how much longer I can go on faking it. I have no interest in any of the things they are doing on that show. I’m 40-years-old. It doesn’t make sense any more for us to be pretending that we work at SUR”. I guess he got his wish, and I have a feeling they are ALL going to be out of jobs, real soon.

Between the colossal failures of Overserved with Lisa Vanderpump, Vanderpump Dogs, Pooch Perfect, her shortlived All Things Vanderpump podcast, and now her cherished Vanderpump Rules, it would appear that Lisa Vanderpump's star rating has dropped significantly.  But hey, to achieve relative fame as late in life as she did, who can complain?  Also, let's be honest; would SUR, PUMP, Tom Tom, or VP Garden Las Vegas ever have gotten off the ground, let alone lasted as long as they have had Lisa not become famous on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills?   I doubt it.  In addition, I know that many of her fans considered her quitting RHOBH as an act of betrayal in which I don't believe she is ever going to recover from.
