Can Teresa Giudice Break The Housewife Curse on DWTS?

You gotta give it to Teresa.  She's been able to successfully turn her life around. From a year long prison sentence to a public divorce, the RHONJ star's main focus has been her dorters. Teresa has put the past behind her, and gotten the happy ending that she's always wanted, at least for now.  From a very meager life in Patterson, NJ, to a custom built mansion in Indian Lakes, and then to another with new husband, Luis Ruelas ... Teresa has signed on to season 31  of Dancing With the Stars.

The newlyweds traveled to Europe for a honeymoon following a very lavish wedding, and now fans are going to (hopefully) see a different side of Teresa outside of The Real Housewives of New Jersey toxic environment that made her famous.

She is paired with professional dancer Pasha Pashkov, and the two are reportedly getting on very well.  The show has been trying to get Giudice on for years, and she has always wanted to do it, but never felt like the time was right until now. Teresa's Ultimate Girl's Trip co-star, Kenya Moore, undoubtedly had something to do with it when she told Teresa that the experience will change her life.  Also, Teresa's youngest daughter, Audriana, is a competition dancer.

Perhaps because DWTS relies on viewer votes (rather than judges scores), historically, "real housewives" have not faired particular well.  Just ask Lisa Rinna, Lisa Vanderpump, Nene Leakes, Kim Zolciak, Erika Jayne, and most recently, Kenya Moore.   However, Teresa does have millions of followers on social media, and you can bet her "Tre-Huggers" are going to show up to leverage her (lack of) popularity with the mainstream audience.

It will be interesting to see if her brother, Joe Gorga and wife Melissa show up.  Somehow I doubt it.
