In New Acting Role, Ramona Singer, Thespian, Questions Daughter If She's a Lesbian

Though her time on the Real Housewives of New York City may be over (at least for now) it seems Ramona Singer has no plans of leaving our screens entirely. The reality TV star, 66, who exited RHONY last year surprised fans who discovered that she is starring in a short film titled Friendly Distractions, which is currently in production.

It all started when a clip from the upcoming movie, originally shared by director Adrian Lopez on his Facebook, went viral featuring "Natalie", who is played by Singer. The two-minute long clip sees Ramona sitting on a beige couch amidst fluffy mint pillows, dressed in a burgundy mini dress and black heels. The star has her blonde tresses lightly curled and is seen on her speaker phone speaking to her daughter Ella, played by Claire Tyers.  Ella tells her mother she is getting divorced, and Natalie questions her before finally asking, 'Are you a lesbian?' to which her daughter replies, 'I gotta go.'

Of course Singer's acting performance was met with mixed reviews by fans, who apparently think that you can judge a person's acting chops by a random 2 min. scene, but a number of her fans were thrilled by the performance.  One commented, "The cautious pause before asking the question followed by an emotionally dismissive shrug. Mama was working!".

The IMDb plot for the film describes it as revolving around "The exploits of three single women, all friends in various stages of dating in New York City."  The release date for the film is currently unclear, and Singer has not said whether she will continue to pursue her acting career. The film was written by Craig Perkins and aside from Singer and Tyers it also stars Justin C. Schilling, Alexandra Faye Sadeghian, Cedric Gegel, and Delian Lincourt among others.

Singer had previously starred as God in 2019 short film Blair’s Lair, The Delivery Guy.  If memory serves, Danielle Staub's porn flick had a similar theme.  Hey, if Sonja Morgan can be a movie producer, then Ramona can certainly dive into a little acting.  Let's just hope there is a better outcome.

Singer stepped away was fired from RHONY last year, after 13 seasons on the show, and she recently told The Daily Mail that she has never been happier. She also divulged that after exiting the Housewives universe, she got her real estate license.  "I'm 60 something now, I worked hard my whole life, and it's time for me just to start enjoying myself.  Doing the show was not easy. I mean, people think it's easy, but it's very stressful, very stressful!".  She continued, "Bravo made the unilateral decision to get rid of everybody ... just dismiss all of us all, well now I can control my own narrative and, you know, I'm happier now and actually I'm calmer."  Ramona concluded,  "You know what's funny?  I don't miss it at all.  It was a great experience and I wouldn't trade it for anything."
