Bershan Shaw may be new to the Real Housewives of New York, but she has already established an alliance with Ramona Singer. The business coach/motivational speaker publicly shut down accusations that Ramona is racist after her cast mates Sonja Morgan, Luann de Lesseps, and Leah McSweeney allegedly confirmed they believe Ramona uses black people as props to prove she’s not racist. Understand they are not "calling" their friend racist; they are merely accusing Ramona of using black people to prove she's not.
In an exclusive interview with US Weekly, the RHONY friend-of reiterated, “I’d say this again. Everyone’s like, ‘She’s a racist.’ She’s not. We just grew up in different ways in different areas.”. “Ramona didn’t grow up in a ghetto adiverse area, right?”.
The Buckle Up With Bershan podcast host continued to defend her new friend. “So, Ramona lives in her bubble, right? Her friends. But when we met in the summer, we hit it off. She’s a straight shooter. New Yorkers stay in their neighborhoods. They’re here, they’re there. I just think she has a world — it’s Upper East Side. She goes to the Hamptons. That’s her world and that’s her own bubble.”. “I’m not like, you know, kissing her butt, but she’s like a lot of New Yorkers.”.
As Bershan revealed in her debut episode this week, she is a (breast) cancer survivor. Berhan was basically given a stage 4 “death sentence” fourteen years ago, but has miraculously beat it, and has been cancer free ever since. So far so good with Bershan; although it’s only been a few days since her RHONY debut, she has been received very well. For me, she’s a breath of fresh air ... funny and fabulous; just the way we like our HW's. I know I speak for many when I say I would love to see Bershan snatch the apple out Eboni K. Nobody’s hand, but not after seeing her knocking Eboni off her high horse.
