RHONY Reboot Has Reportedly Gone to Sh*
The success of Peacock’s Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip (season 2) has reportedly made Andy Cohen realize that there is a big demand for nostalgia, and perhaps they need to be concentrate more on RHONY: Legacy, rather than the RHONY reboot, which has reportedly gone to shit.
Bravo and Cocktails is reporting that test filming with the “finalized” cast did not go well, and three cast members have either dropped out or been let go. So now Bravo is holding crisis meetings trying to decide what to do.
There’s talk of prioritizing Legacy, airing it on Bravo, and scrapping the reboot altogether. Cohen expanded the casting search to all five boroughs in NYC, but despite there being “thousands of stories to tell”, they are having trouble finding the right women to tell them. A second source is backing up the claims, telling Bravo and Cocktails that the rumors are true! The source elaborated, saying that Bravo knows they screwed up with RHONY and that Andy wants the franchise to return to its glory days. Duh!~
The source said, “That RHONY tea is 100% true!!! Bravo is majorly regretting their decisions regarding RHONY. Andy watched the first two episodes of Lu and Sonja’s spin-off (allegedly titled RHONY: Luann and Sonja Takes Benton) and told a producer, “We fucked up big time.”. Meetings are being held to see how they can go forward with the two shows; Andy is now considering bringing RHONY back to its old form, with no legacy involved,” the second source details.
But pimp daddy himself is remaining tight lipped about Legacy, only commenting that it is coming together nicely. The rumored cast is Jill Zarin, Dorinda Medley, Tinsley Mortimer, Kelly Bensimon, Luann de Lesseps, and Sonja Morgan, but I'm skeptical about that cast, because they all claim they haven't been told anything (and we know that none of them are very good actresses
Any idiot could have told Andy that recasting RHONY was a stupid idea, and he just refused to accept the fact that the viewers hate Leah and Eboni. But then again, this entire thing about firing everyone and recasting the show could be just a negotiation tactic. Everyone knows that Andy is $hrewd, and nothing lights a fire under a star's ass than the threat of being replaced. Also, they are likely to take less money.
