Leah McSweeney and Eboni K. Williams Are Ruining RHONY

In a recent interview with Stylecaster, Leah McSweeney claimed that neither Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan, or Luann De Lesseps wanted her on the Real Housewives of New York City. In fact, during her freshman season, Ramona and Sonja even went as far as using their clout with Bravo to get Leah kicked off the show in the middle of filming last season. She also revealed which co-star had her back during the entire ordeal.

The Married to the Mob founder admitted that the season 12 cast trip to Newport, RI was an emotional tipping point for her. “After Rhode Island, I left disheveled and broken. Ramona and Sonja didn’t want me on the show after that trip. They’re going to get so mad I’m saying this, but there were phone calls made to executives saying I’m not a good fit; that I get too crazy when I drink, which is interesting considering how they get. It was rough.”, said Leah.

She then admitted that she was also disappponted Luann's total lack of loyalty, but added that former co-star Dorinda Medley was the New York Housewife supporting her the most during the entire ordeal.  “I remember waking up and calling Dorinda being like, ‘I don’t feel good.’ and she’s like, ‘I know that feeling. Don’t worry. It’s going to be fine. You’re going to go to this tea party, and you’re going to make it right.’ Dorinda was very maternal in a lot of ways,” Leah added.

The other housewife in Leah’s corner was good (tv) friend Tinsley Mortimer, which is odd considering Tinsley was feuding with Dorinda at the time. Speaking of Dorinda and Tinsley’s feud, which ultimately led to Dorinda being fired from the show, Leah says she found out about Dorinda’s exit from RHONY the same way fans did. “I found out at the same time as everyone else,” she said, “She’s obviously so beloved. She was really there for me last season. Not just on camera, but off-camera”.

Leah McSweeney has been a controversial addition to the show from the get go, and many fans immediately began tuning out.   As a result, ratings for the long running franchise began a steady decline last season, and show no signs of improving. This season’s addition of RHONY’s first black cast member, Eboni K. Williams, appears to have made matters ever worse, as the ratings continue to plummet. Rumors are now swirling that Bravo plans to reboot recast the entire NYC franchise with “new blood”.
