Jeff and Gage Reach Custody Agreement

After more than two years of fighting over custody of their four-year-old daughter Monroe Christine, Jeff Lewis and ex Gage Edward have finally come to an agreement. On Monday’s episode of his Sirius XM radio show, Jeff Lewis told his co-hosts that he believes he and Edward's fighting is finally over. The Flipping Out star and Edwards, who were together for 10 years before they split in February 2019, have agreed to split custody of Monroe and have dropped their lawsuits against each other. "I have some wonderful news. After 26 months of negotiations with Gage Edward Fredenburg ... most of it was contentious I would say, but we have settled our custody agreement. His lawsuit against me has dropped and my lawsuit against him has been dropped, and we have come to an agreement about custody.", said Lewis.

Edward did not respond to a request for comment but a source close to the star told People that he's very happy with the resolution. "This is a big relief," the source says. "He and Jeff are co-parenting very well together, and Gage is looking forward to putting this conflict behind them."

Lewis shared that he and Edward have agreed to a 50/50 physical and legal custody agreement, and a new visitation schedule that will begin in June. "I'm happy with the schedule. Well, I'm okay with the schedule, I think it's going to be good for her," Lewis said. "So it's going to switch, because we've been doing every other day, and now it's going to be two days over there, two days at my house. In order to get the 50/50, we had to do like every other Friday". Lewis recently announced that he will be back on tv in an all new (streaming) reality show for IMDb TV, once again showcasing his interior design business (Bravo/NBC/Universal owns Flipping Out).

Jeff added that he's thrilled he gets to have Monroe every Saturday, due to his growing commitments during the week. "When I'm doing the TV show and the radio show I'm going to be really busy during the week, so it's nice to know that I'll have Saturday," he shared.

To Gage’s chagrin, Jeff has regularly detailed the fallout from their split, including their custody battle, on his radio show. The exes initially had an informal shared custody arrangement, but when that system broke down, they involved their lawyers, Lewis has said.  He had filed a proposal in which he had Monroe for the majority of the time and Edward countered, demanding equal time with their daughter, as well as requesting to change her name from Monroe Christine Lewis to Monroe Christine Edward Lewis.

Lewis began dating Scott Anderson in March 2019, and the pair have been involved in an on-and-off relationship since. However, Lewis recently revealed that they have been officially broken up since Sept. 2020.

BTW, for those who may be curious as to why this was such a long and drawn out legal battle, Jeff Lewis is the biological father of Monroe, but Gage Edward is listed on the birth certificate as “father” as well.
