Of all the gin joints in all the world .... Real Housewives of New York City alumni, Bethenny Frankel and Jill Zarin, ended up on the same airline, in the same city, from the same terminal, and on the same exact flight. Coincidence? It's possible, but it gets better. Then just a short time later, Countess Luann de Lesseps was spotted drinking sitting in JFK's Delta Lounge waiting for her flight. It then took less than a hot New York minute for Andy Cohen to jump by posting, “Crew en route with certified checks”. If this was their subtle way of letting us know that RHONY: Legacy has started production, it was mission accomplished.
Now before we all get too excited, let's talk about this calmly. First of all, we know Luann has four cabaret shows in L.A., from June 23 through Jun 26, so she was obviously on her way there. Speaking of Luann, she just appeared on two podcasts, David Yontef's Behind the Velvet Rope and Heather McDonald's Juicy Scoop. I like to think I have a pretty good very good bullshit meter, and I sensed none when both hosts drilled her about Legacy. Instead she said to both of them, "We are going to know VERY soon". By the way, when asked about The Simple Life rumors, she gave the standard and almost stern, "I can't comment on that", which is basically a "yes", or at the very least, an acknowledgement that is isn't just a made up story.
There have been a few other clues accidentally thrown out there as well. Dorinda Medley slipped up and told fellow SIRIUS (XM) colleague, Jeff Lewis, that she was
filming in her new apartment, and when Jeff began to drill her, she squirmed and said she meant "she" was filming her move for posterity (with her cellphone). Uh huh, sure Dorothy, whatever you say.
Ramona Singer also appeared on Jeff Lewis Live just recenty, where Jeff sttempted to set a trap. Jeff told Ramona about Dorinda's aforementioned slip up and also that he was told that Jill is confirmed. It reminded me of the scene in a movie or TV show where the cops put the two accused in separate interrogation rooms, and then tell each of them that the other confessed (so they spill their guts). Jeff's plan didn't work out quite that well, but Ramona did take the bait and just smiled, as though she was relieved. Jeff then asked her point blank if she had been signed yet, but Mona just coyly said she "was not allowed to comment". Jeff replied, "So that's a yes".
There are a few other factors at play here as well. We have Bethenny who only just a few weeks ago said that she would go back, but only for the right price and only if she agreed with the concept (in other words, was given casting approval). I believe they met her demands. But more than that, I think it's possible that Luann's public ridicule (telling David Yontef that "Perhaps Bethenny should be a little more appreciative and not forget about the hand that fed her in the first place") struck a nerve with Bethenny. Luann has a point, but to be fair, Bethenny did already come back once, so where is her "appreciation" supposed to end?
Back to Lu for a moment; she flat out told the Behind the Velvet Rope host that "filming" was keeping her busy, and that her non-alcoholic "Fose'" would be coming out in the fall "after the season airs". I was shocked David didn't say "Huh? What are you filming and what 'season' are you referring to?".
Finally, I think there is a strong possibility that Jeff Lewis really got to Andy when he recently said to him (angrily), "We don't care about the reboot ... you NEED to do Legacy first".
