Facebook’s Zuckerberg Is At It Again
Facebook is in the hotseat again; this time for trying to silence COVID-19 vaccine skeptics by using an algorithm that targets and demotes their comments on their site. An anonymous Facebook staffer has sounded the alarm on Big Tech's ongoing push for censorship of all things "Conservative".
Two anonymous Facebook employees leaked internal memos to Project Veritas which indicates the social media giant has tested a beta version of its algorithm to track down vaccine-hesitant users. In an undercover Project Veritas video on Monday, the data technician said this includes cutting "likes" on posts that highlight deaths from vaccines. The whistleblower added, this happens to a much larger extent than the social media giant lets on. “Facebook uses classifiers in their algorithms to determine certain content to be what they call ‘vaccine hesitant’ or they call it ‘vaccine hesitancy,’ and without a user’s knowledge they assign a score to these comments that’s called the ‘VH Score’ (the Vaccine Hesitancy Score),” explained the Facebook employee.
According to Project Veritas' leader Matthew McDermott, the document states that these comments are an explicit violation of Facebook policy and counted as “Alarmism and Criticism", and even indirect "vaccine discouragement,” cannot be tolerated. A Facebook spokesperson said “We proactively announced this policy on our company blog and also updated our help center with this information.”. Facebook acknowledges that it may reduce the visibility of content, but does not violate company policy.
In March, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company would add labels to posts about vaccines to counter misinformation. “For example, we’re adding a label on posts that discuss the safety of COVID-19 vaccines that notes COVID-19 vaccines go through tests for safety and effectiveness before they’re approved,” Zuckerberg wrote. Despite the company’s recent efforts, it and other social media giants have come under fire from lawmakers and watchdogs during the pandemic for allowing COVID-19 misinformation to spread rampantly on the platform.
Veritas has been exposing Facebook and Twitter's blatant biased censorship and sleazy going ons at CNN and MethNBC (with audio/video proof) for years. The Demoncrats in Congress are not only aware, but accomplices. This is what we're dealing with people. But unfortunately, we know the drill; once again, Zuckerberg will be called on the carpet spending a half a day being grilled before Congress. But until the spineless Republicans actually DO something about this blatent censorship (of all things right), it's going to just keep happening. Apply, lather, rinse, repeat.
