Eboni K. Williams Participates in New Celebrity Competition Show "Beyond The Edge"

We've all been really hard on Eboni K. Williams, myself included, but there is just something about her that I like.  However, that is not to say that I want to see her back on the show, because I don't think she's a good fit for THIS particular series.  First of all, EKW she has no connection to anyone ON the show.  It's bad enough that the real housewives series is no longer about "housewives" per se, but adding random fame whores, let alone single women into the mix just doesn't work.

Eboni, 38, was a legitimate trial attorney, and then got into acting, and then television as an entertainment news anchor, becoming a regular fixture on Fox News.  After disappearing for a while, like countless celebrities before her,  Eboni then turned to reality TV by joining the Real Housewives of New York City.

IMHO, allowing herself to be touted as "RHONY's First Black Cast Member" doomed Eboni from the start.  Making matters worse, season 13 began filming in 2020, smack dab in the middle of a heated election year, civil unrest, and historic global plannedemic.

Williams made her RHONY debut wearing a BLM face mask and a hoodie representing the "Central Park Five",  but in an attempt to "elevate" the show by engaging her co-stars in unprecedented conversations about race, Williams was met resistence and viewer hate.  Luann de Lesseps unapologetically called Williams “angry” (leaving out the "black woman" part) and literally kicked her out of her Hamptons home. Lu and Eboni patched things up, but Williams' issues with OG, Ramona Singer 64, proved to be a season long battle.  Eventually fans grew tired of Eboni's constant bloviating about racial injustice and tuned out, ultimately leading to RHONY's worst ratings in 10 years.

Now with RHONY on "pause", Eboni is keeping herself buy with other reality TV ventures.  The latest is appearing on a celebrity competition show called “Beyond the Edge.”. The show sees her competing alongside Colton Underwood, Paulina Porizkova, Lauren Alaina and more stars in “Survivor”-style challenges in the jungles of Panama while raising money for charity.

Perhaps surprisingly, Williams hopes to return for the next season of “RHONY” when production resumes.  But rather "schooling" her co-stars, Eboni hopes to have more fun with them ... even Ramona Singer, whom Williams says she really connects with despite their contrasting (political) views.  “I want more glamour, more style, more indulgence and more good times”, Williams recently said, adding that she has remained the closest with Sonja Morgan, since last season.
"I'd like more women of color in the cast!", Williams recently said, adding that powerhouse stylist June Ambrose would make a “great addition” as would members of the LGBTQIAXCZNJ+ community. “I would love to see that type of visibility increase on the show.”.  Oh Eboni, you almost had me.
