Andy Tries To Ambush Bethenny Frankel, Misfires

 

Bethenny Frankel traded barbs with Andy Cohen and Jeff Lewis on Watch What Happens Live last night.  As expected, The Real Housewives of New York City alum brought the drama, going full Frankel when asked about her new so called "controversial" Housewives podcast.

 

Although we tolerates it, Cohen is not fond of his bitches (present or past) talking about his enterprise, so Frankel has come under fire by her former boss for hosting a "re-watch" podcast about the very same show which Andy reminded her that she has called “toxic” in the past.  Fair enough. 

 

Cohen wasted no time getting into it, soft-balling her at first by "joking" about their feud, but Bethenny came prepared and ready to rumble, responding, "Yes, let's do it".  The conversation quickly turned contentious when Andy said, “You’ve been trashing the Housewives for the past three years”.  He then called her hypocritical because she’s going “deep” into the franchise after slamming it. Frankel replied that Cohen’s criticism didn’t come to her privately and differed from what her had told her one-on-one, when he said, “I’m glad to see you’re embracing the Housewives”.

 

As she insisted that she’s not trashing people on the show, Cohen replies, “You’ve called it boring, toxic, women against other women!”.   Then as they continue going back and forth, Frankel and Cohen went back-and-forth, Andy turns to Jeff Lewis, asking him, “Jeff, are you enjoying this?”.  Jeff replies, “No, I’m actually uncomfortable”. 

 

Jeff then asks Bethenny how her Housewives recap was different from the "dozens of others".  Big mistake.  Frankel then turns on him, pointing to his firing from Bravo as she explains, “Well, I wasn’t let go by Bravo. I actually left on my own choice, so that’s a little bit different. I’m not a disgruntled employee”.  *(((snap))).  But Lewis leans into it, plainly stating, “Yeah I got fired,” and Frankel confirmed, “right,” before adding, “and that’s why you’re so bitter.” *((double snaps))). 

 

Lewis initially agrees before realizing what he was doing, and then quickly reverses course, saying, “No, I’m not bitter at all!” But Frankel kept up the antagonizing, sarcastically telling her fellow guest, “Right, exactly, that’s what they all say.”  Lewis then looks around to the audience in confusion, saying, “No, I really did,” and insists he’s happy, but Bethenny was on a roll.  “You said it, you opened the door, baby,” she tells him, and then gets the last word with, “Don’t come for this unless you wanna get shot”.  All I'm thinking is, have these bitches not met Bethenny?

 

All in all, it was in good fun.   The best part of the show came at the end when Jeff said to Andy, "What amazes me is that after all these years, you still don't do any background checks ... on some of these housewives".   Jeff knew he stepped in it as Andy just glared at him without saying a word.  Bethenny then starts chattering nervously, and then tries to save Jeff's ass saying, "That's what makes the world go around on that situation".  Oh to be a  fly on the wall when they stopped taping.
